In this work the author uses an abstract language, based on irregular geometry, organic in both its layout and colors. It is an open style, whose basic characteristic is the conception of the pictorial surface as a whole, as an open field, without limits and without hierarchy. Thus, as we see here, the pictorial forms are the result of a thoughtful composition and experimentation, with an image of gestural character, not limited to a composition but go beyond, indicating to the viewer that it is about forms, ideas or suggestions that go beyond the boundaries of the purely pictorial.
The Asturian painter Avelino Mallo has received numerous awards. He studied Fine Arts in Seville. Among his solo exhibitions, we highlight those held at the Evaristo Valle Museum and the gallery Gema Llamazares, "The liquefaction of the landscape", Gijón, 2010. He is represented in collections both as part of various public and private collections, including Cajastur (Liberbank), the Notarial Association of Asturias, Mapfre Foundation, Pinacoteca de Langreo, Luarca City Council or the Plácido Arango of Madrid. In 1980 he won the only prize and gold medal in the national painting contest of Luarca. He has ten solo exhibitions, thirty group exhibitions and five national awards. Critics have defined his uncatalogable work as "abstracted landscape painting".
