Untitled, 1987.

Signed and dated.
Measurements: 46.5 x 36.5 cm; 66 x 59 cm (frame).
Condé's work is characterized by a very personal figuration where fantasy and symbolism prevail. In his canvases, watercolors and engravings Condé gives us characters halfway between the present and the past, coming out of poetic tales capable of teleporting us to distant worlds.
A Mexican painter, draftsman and engraver born in the United States, Miguel Condé works between Madrid and Sitges, always in a personal figurative style. Self-taught except for anatomy studies with Stephen Rogers Peck in New York and printmaking techniques at Stanley William Hayter's Atelier 17 in Paris, he was a fellow of the Guggenheim Foundation for Latin America and the French Government. Condé has received several international awards, and is a full member of the Société des Peintres-Graveurs Français. He is currently represented at the MoMA in New York, the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Albertina Museum in Vienna, the National Library in Paris, etc.
