JOSEP PUIGGARÍ I LLOBET (Barcelona, 1821-1903).

Lawyer of the college of Barcelona and reputed artist and writer, in 1866 he was named corresponding academician of the one of San Fernando, and later he would be secretary of the provincial Commission of historical and artistic monuments. He was the author of numerous articles on history, archaeology and fine arts, many of which were published in the magazine El Museo Universal and in the work Las glorias de la pintura. He also collaborated in La Ilustración Española y Americana.
As a draftsman he took part in the illustration of the publications of the publishers Gaspar and Roig, in Balaguer's Historia de Cataluña, in Paluzie's Historia de España, in Recuerdos y bellezas de España and in Barcelona antigua y moderna, among others.
