Painter and draftsman formed in Barcelona, Antoni Ferrater developed a work centered in the landscape, characterized by a style close to Rusiñol's but of smaller formats, taking as model frequently subjects of Sitges and its surroundings. He belonged to the second generation of Catalan modernist painters along with Lluís Graner and Eliseo Meifrèn. Throughout his career Ferrater took part in most of the official exhibitions and artistic competitions held in Barcelona, and internationally he was awarded prizes in Mexico and Buenos Aires. He also held several solo exhibitions, such as the one held at the Casa Esteva in Barcelona in 1909. Ferrater is currently represented in the Carmen Thyssen collection.
