DESCRIPTION

PABLO PICASSO (Malaga, 1881 - Mougins, France, 1973).
"Carnet Picasso. Paris 1900", 1972.
Facsimile edition of Picasso's sketchbook of 1900.
With introduction by Rosa M.ª Subirana, technical curator of the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
Copy 110/1000, with print run justification.
Edition: Gustavo Gili, Barcelona.
Measurements: 14,5 × 20,5 × 3,8 cm.

Facsimile edition published by Gustavo Gili in 1972, which reproduces a sketchbook linked to Picasso's Parisian stay in 1900. The work allows us to approach the young artist, still in full training, attentive to urban life, popular figures and modern environments that would mark his early years in Paris.

The interest of the set lies in its documentary and collector character: it reproduces an intimate space of work and observation, where the agility of the Picassian stroke can be appreciated. The edition, limited to 1000 numbered copies, includes an introduction by Rosa M. Subirana, technical curator of the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.

Pablo Picasso is one of the capital figures of 20th century art. Founder of cubism together with Georges Braque and creator of an immense oeuvre that encompasses painting, sculpture, engraving, ceramics and drawing, he radically transformed the language of modern art. His work is represented in major international museums, including the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, the Musée Picasso in Paris, the MoMA in New York, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
