Enamel by Carme Llorens dedicated to the Virgin of Montserrat, one of the most deeply rooted iconographies in the Catalan devotional tradition. Carme Llorens i Gilabert was a Catalan enameller and jeweler. Trained at the Escola Massana in Barcelona between 1942 and 1950, she specialized in fire enamel with Miquel Soldevila and was part of the so-called Barcelona School of enamel. His work evolved from more academic registers towards a growing experimentation with techniques, materials and textures. She is represented in the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, within its collections of ceramics and decorative arts.
