A masterpiece of glass art, the Cactus Amber Console embodies the creative genius of Marc Lalique, son of the legendary René Lalique, and perpetuates the heritage of excellence of the prestigious Maison Lalique.
The original design was conceived in 1951, initially in its round top version. This table masterfully combines the classic and the modern. Its sculptural structure, inspired by the sinuous forms of a cactus, rises in amber glass, displaying a warm and deep luminosity. Eight finely modeled cactus stems converge on the crescent-shaped glass tabletop. This is transparent, allowing a full view of the magnificent sculpture blooming from a circular base.
The texture and relief of the amber glass creates a play of light and reflections that transforms the piece according to the intensity and direction of the lighting. In it, the light strikes and dances between the scrolls of the glass, revealing the prodigious richness of its material.
Each Cactus table is the fruit of an unparalleled feat of craftsmanship: six master glassmakers, all distinguished with the title of Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen of France), participate in its creation. In Lalique's hot glass workshops, the manufacturing process requires between eight and ten weeks of manual labor to produce the eight legs, each born of 18 kilograms of molten glass.
The result is a piece of sublime magnificence, in which time, technique and talent come together in perfect harmony. The Cactus Amber Console is more than a piece of furniture: it is a luminous sculpture, a testimony to Lalique's virtuosity and tradition, capable of transforming any space into a stage of luxury and poetry.
