Pair of floor lamps, Model Area, designed by Mario Bellini in the seventies. They stand out for the originality of its design, of organic inspiration. The lampshades seem to flutter like silk and provide an indirect and warm light. They are raised on a thin white lacquered rod, placed on an iron base.
Mario Bellini graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Milan in 1959, and began his career working on his own as an architect. He achieved early international success, both in the field of architecture and in urban planning and furniture design. In 1987 the Museum of Modern Art, which includes twenty-five of his works in its collection, dedicated a retrospective exhibition to him. Bellini has collaborated with major European and American design firms, including Artemide, Vitra and Flos. He has been awarded eight Compasso d'Oro and the Gold Medal for his work by the President of the Republic of Italy. His designs are currently part of prominent collections around the world.
