The one we are now bidding for is a compact, refined and functional dresser. It stands on four prismatic legs that raise the main body in height. It is divided into four compartments: a cabinet on the left side and three drawers on the right side, the upper one folding with a top lid. Wooden handles add warmth.

Roger Landault trained at the Lycée des Arts Appliqués in Paris. In 1945 he joined the Studium-Louvre, then directed by Etienne-Henri Martin, whom he succeeded as artistic director until 1955. Because he was awarded the prize of the French furniture competition, he attracted the attention of the ABC company, publisher "with which he would begin a fruitful collaboration (for which he created reconstruction furniture with Junior (1951-1954), juxtaposable creations in solid wood with Dakar and Rotterdam (1955-1959) which won him the René-Gabriel prize, more diverse ranges of materials with Panama (1959-1961), (see the dressing table with leather-covered doors), two Scandinavian style lines with Chatelaine and Rio (1960-1961). But Roger Landault also collaborates with other publishers such as Bouvier (see chair 6517, published from 1954)," according to the Pompidou Museum. His work is currently kept at the Centre Pompidou, among other important institutions.
