Ceramic decorated by hand.
Presents seal on the base.
Measurements: 47,5 x 23 cm.
Tibor in glazed porcelain based on the models of the Qianlong period, emperor of China between 1736 and 1795, belonging to the Qing dynasty. The tibor or mei-ping, of which we see here a particularly clean and essential form, is an inverted ovoid belly vase with a lid, intended to contain the first flowering branches of the cherry tree. This is a typology widely used within Chinese ceramic and porcelain production, both for the domestic market and for export. This example is decorated with cranes and other birds fluttering around an amalgam of flowers and other plant motifs. The lid features the round figure of a Foo dog.
