DESCRIPTION

Japanese vase. Meiji era, ca. 1910.
Hand-painted ceramic.
Measurements: 26 x 21 x 21 cm.

This Meiji era Japanese vase presents a meticulously executed decoration in cobalt blue and iron red glazes, with golden touches. The body, globular in shape with a short neck, is ornamented with stylized floral motifs, mainly chrysanthemums and peonies, arranged in symmetrical panels. The composition reflects the influence of the Imari style, characterized by its palette of blue, red and gold on a white background.
