Measurements: 5,5 x 36 cm.
Large Japanese Kutani porcelain dish, made c. 1900 during the Meiji period. Decorated by hand with polychrome and golden enamels, it presents a courtly scene set in an autumn landscape, where elegantly dressed figures converse in a garden under flowering trees. The painter's technical mastery is evident in the delicacy of the faces and the meticulousness of the kimonos, richly ornamented with floral and geometric motifs. The border, decorated with brightly colored stripes and traditional patterns, frames the central composition with balance and refinement. This piece exemplifies the artistic quality and technical virtuosity characteristic of Kutani porcelain in late 19th century Japan.
