A display bottle created to promote the fragrance Nuits Indiennes by Jean-Louis Scherrer. These types of pieces, typically produced in large sizes, were intended for display cases, perfume shops, and retail locations—not for cosmetic use. The piece features a tall, slender design, with a cylindrical body of fluted clear glass and a rectangular stopper with a pronounced vertical profile, decorated with geometric motifs in black and gold. The green detail on the neck provides a color contrast and reinforces the ornamental character of the piece as a whole. It retains the inscription “Nuits Indiennes / Jean-Louis Scherrer” on the body and “Parfum” on the base.

Dummy bottles are part of a specialized field of collecting linked to the history of perfumery, advertising, and major fashion houses. Their appeal lies both in their decorative value and in their role as promotional materials, designed to attract attention in store windows and commercial spaces. Since these are display objects, many were removed, replaced, or discarded after the campaigns ended, which lends special appeal to the surviving examples, especially when they come from haute couture and perfume houses such as Jean-Louis Scherrer.
