The painter Juan F. Neira gives us a totally realistic view of the Castle of San Antón in La Coruña, a 16th century fortress that, together with the Castle of Santa Cruz and the Castle of San Diego, formed a strategic network of castles and batteries to defend the city of La Coruña. It was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1949. Since 1994 it has been considered an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Monument.
