Painter, draughtsman and sculptor, Josep Tur tackled landscape, bullfighting and costumbrista themes, portraits and other subjects, and made his debut in Barcelona in the 1950s, with exhibitions in galleries such as the Layetanas (1956, 1958) and Jaimes (1958). In the following decade he settled in Italy and the United States, and began his international career, also exhibiting in London and Paris. He returned to Spain and settled in Segovia, and since then he has held personal exhibitions in the main capitals of our country, as well as in Rome, Paris, New York, Copenhagen and other cities. He was awarded the Prizes for Young Painting in Turin (1960) and by the Directorate of Fine Arts in Barcelona, and is currently represented in private collections both nationally and internationally.
