Drawing by Flora Macedonski Cantemir that represents a feminine figure of intimate and delicate character, resolved by means of a light and superimposed stroke. The use of soft lines and subtle tones suggests the volume and movement of the body, transmitting a sensation of recollection and sensitivity, typical of her most intimate expressive language.
Flora Macedonski Cantemir was a painter of early formation and projection, born into a family of outstanding creators. Daughter of the Romanian post-impressionist painter Alexis Macedonski and the painter Florena Laura Cantemir, she showed exceptional precocity, holding her first individual exhibition in 1945.
During the 1950s he exhibited regularly in Palma de Mallorca. In this period he received important commissions from the National Institute of Colonization, making triptychs and large religious ensembles for newly built churches in Extremadura and Aragon, including the altarpieces of El Sabinar (1962), Lácara and Brovales, highly valued for their chromatic luminosity and compositional dynamism. His work is characterized by an expressive figuration of strong emotional and symbolic intensity.
