DESCRIPTION
EDUARD ALBORS (Valencia, 1949) for Lamsar, Valencia.
Tresca" pendant lamp, ca. 1977.
White lacquered aluminum lampshade.
Measurements: 82 x 23.5 cm.
The white lacquered aluminum shade is suspended by three ropes knotted with counterweights, allowing the inclination and direction of the light to be adjusted by means of a dynamic and intuitive system. This mechanism introduces an unusual interactive dimension, where the user actively participates in the lighting configuration. It is a representative piece of a key stage in contemporary Spanish design, where experimentation and functionality coexist naturally.
Albors founded the Caps i Mans studio in the 1970s, which later became part of the La Nave collective, the driving force behind new Valencian design at the international level.
