DESCRIPTION
Neapolitan school of the second half of the 17th century.
"Infant Jesus".
Polychrome wood. Vitreous paste eyes.
It presents damages due to the passage of time, jumps in the polychrome and old restorations.
Measurements: 62 x 37 x 20 cm.
Devotional image of round bulk carved in wood and polychrome, representing the naked Baby Jesus (originally, it would wear rich royal clothes made to measure), with blushing cheeks, raising his hands and in a moving position. It is a magnificently worked carving at anatomical level, of extraordinary naturalism, following the baroque canons of the Neapolitan school.
