Faithful to her figurative language of classical roots, Granero seeks to capture in this sculpture the essence of the human body, moving away from the detail to create a harmonious, round and deeply human figure, impregnated with a contained sensuality and a Mediterranean spirit. She captures the essence of her work by presenting a nude female figure, folded in on herself in an intimate and silent gesture, with her legs bent and her arms wrapped around her body in a closed and protective form; her wide, soft and rounded volumes build a solid and serene presence, where the simplification of the forms does not detract but rather intensifies the expression, while the bowed head and the introspective attitude suggest a deep, almost meditative calm.

Luisa Granero was trained in Barcelona, at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Sant Jordi. She was a disciple and assistant to the sculptors Jaume Otero and Enric Monjo and, later, professor of sculpture at the current Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where she received her doctorate in 1983. She is currently a member of the Royal Academies of San Fernando in Madrid, Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville and Sant Jordi in Barcelona, and a member of the National Sculpture Society of New York since 1973. He has won several awards, including the City of Barcelona, and has several public works in that city, as well as in Zaragoza and Palma de Mallorca. He has also held outdoor exhibitions in various places, such as around the castle of Malcesine in Italy (2004) and in Sitges (2007). In 2009 he received the Autocugat Art Award.
