The book, "Van Eyck in Detail," analyzes the work of Flemish painter Jan van Eyck (c. 1395-1441), known for his meticulous observation of nature and his realism. It is organized by themes such as nature, architecture, everyday life, textiles, jewelry, and portraits, highlighting the details of his paintings.
Maximiliaan P. J. Martens is professor of art history at the University of Ghent and Annick Born is a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Art and Science at the same university.
Antonio Manuel Campoy was a Spanish art critic and collector.
