Table lamp, 1930s.

Table lamp designed by Just Andersen. The shaft has a refined work of moldings and smooth transitions, while the top is resolved by a light structure that provides a subtle formal contrast. The ensemble shows a clear Art Deco influence, reinterpreting traditional motifs from a more modern and refined language.
Just Andersen was a prominent Danish designer and sculptor, known for his work in metals and for the introduction of innovative materials such as Disko metal. He trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His creations fall within the context of the Nordic decorative arts of the interwar period. His works are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, among others.
