Untitled.1983.

This print belongs to Jaume Plensa's early period, when the artist developed a graphic language of great formal synthesis, based on geometric structures and stylized figures.
The rhomboidal composition intensifies the sensation of dynamism and controlled imbalance. Two vertical forms, almost anthropomorphic, are organized around a central axis, constructed by means of black planes that contrast with lighter geometric lines. The relationship between full and empty, weight and suspension, constitutes the structural core of the image.
Jaume Plensa has had an extensive international career, with outstanding exhibitions such as the retrospective held at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in 2000.
He has received important awards, including the National Plastic Arts Award from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Medal of Knight of Arts and Letters from the French Ministry of Culture. His work is part of important international collections and museums such as the MoMA in New York, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the MACBA in Barcelona.
