Splendid still life of hunting and arranged table, representative of the Flemish tradition of the XVII century, where abundance and detail become protagonists. The composition is organized around a table covered by a rich red cloth, on which game pieces are arranged - hare, birds and other animals - along with fruits, utensils and glass objects, creating a set of great visual richness. The presence of the cat in the background, attentive to the scene, introduces a narrative element that dynamizes the composition and connects with the baroque taste for lively and anecdotal scenes.
For its conception and compositional richness, the work fits into the orbit of the great Flemish still life painters, especially recalling the compositions of Frans Snyders, master in the representation of pantries and hunting scenes of large format. As in his production, a combination of opulence, dynamism and technical virtuosity can be appreciated here, with special attention to the treatment of textures and the interaction between the elements represented.
