This young man is characterized by his archetypal clothing: wide-brimmed hat, white shirt with collar, red jacket and dark pants, based on the rural clothing of European peasants, including those of Italy, during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The work responds to the regionalist trend in which painters seek to reflect the types and customs of their own land, which make it different and unique, thus vindicating their own roots and, above all, the traditions and ways of dressing and behaving of its inhabitants.
