Sandro Colbertaldo studied drawing and painting in Milan, with Gian Luigi Giovanola, artist of the "ideo-grammatical" group, referring to the school of Giuseppe Capogrossi. In the 1960s he frequented the Milanese studio of Mario Schifano, the most prominent representative of the group of Roman Pop artists labeled "Scuola di Piazza del Popolo". He graduated in architecture in Milan in 1971, with a paper on the relationship between painting and architecture, presented by the internationally renowned architect Prof. Aldo Rossi. After graduating, he worked for three years as an architect at the Algerian Ministry of Health. Back in Milan, he worked as a consultant for the design and image of Kartell, Bassetti and several Italian companies in the sector. With the Luceplan brand, he won the prestigious "Compasso d'Oro" design award in 1981. Since 2002 he lives and works in Cruïlles (Girona-Baix Empordà).
