Leandro Mbomio Nsue Edú-Aguong was an Equatoguinean sculptor and artist, former Minister of Education and Minister of Information, Tourism, Art and Culture. In October 2007, Mbomio was named Artist for Peace by UNESCO, he holds several knighthoods, including one from the French Republic for his artistic merits. Leandro studied art in Spain, where he lived in exile for many years during the Franco regime. He was always a supporter of a Free Equatorial Guinea, and in 1979 he took possession by force of the former Embassy of Equatorial Guinea in Madrid. He lived in Malabo (RGE), Germany, Madrid, Barcelona, etc., and was President of the Council of Science and Technology of Equatorial Guinea and organ of the Presidency of Equatorial Guinea.
