Single Malt Whisky. 70 cl.
Provenance: Private collector. Stored in private cellar with controlled temperature and humidity.
Legend has it that the greatest neottish warrior of all, Fionn mae Gumhaill - also known as Fingal - walked Islay with his two huge hounds: Bean and Bevolang. Fionn, who possessed supernatural powers and superhuman strength, picked up one of the Ardbeg stones and threw it into the depths of Loch Indaal for his dogs to retrieve. The splash of the stone stirred the dark sands at the bottom of the loch and, with them, awoke from its millennial slumber the sleeping form of the dragon-sen-dragon Kranna Dubh. Kranna emerged from the depths and swam to the shore of Bowmore to engage Fionn in combat. Kranna plunged into the lake, mortally wounded by Fionn's magical sword, Mae a' Luin, and his dark blood seeped into the waters. To this day, the image of the sea dragon appears on Bowmore's label. And it is said that when the sun sets, Indaal Lake is dyed red with its blood, and that mothers in the area severely punish their children if they ever see them throwing stones into the lake.
Established in 1779, Bowmore Distillery is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries and is located on the shores of Loch Indaal on the Isle of Islay in the Inner Hebrides. Bowmore is universally regarded as the "best balanced" of all Islay malts, characterized by its wonderfully rich and complex flavors.
