A ceramic bowl decorated with high-temperature glazes. The colors used for outlining the motifs are blue, green, and yellow. The base features a bust with stylized features. The rim is decorated with a geometric border consisting of zigzag lines, a common feature of Triana pottery. The decoration is completed with bands of concentric lines in blue and green, a motif typical of Spanish folk pottery throughout the 19th century.

Triana has been a major center for pottery production since Roman times. Later, the Arabs contributed to the techniques and aesthetics of the region’s ceramic production. At the end of the 15th century, Niculoso Francisco Pisano moved to the area and introduced the Italian style along with a new technique in which the tile is worked like an oil painting.
