Nuria Tortras studied at the School of Fine Arts of Barcelona with Joan Rebull. She has had solo exhibitions since 1968, and has participated in various competitions and group exhibitions on a regular basis. Her work is impregnated with a great Mediterranean feeling, with clear reminiscences of the Greek and Egyptian classics. In 1974 he was awarded the City of Barcelona Prize and in 2003 the St. George Cross Prize. In Barcelona he made the monuments to the Peñas de San Medín (1969), to Walt Disney (1969), to Charlot (1972) and to the Mutua Escolar Blanquerna (1998) and, in Palma de Mallorca, to Walt Disney (1969). In Barcelona, he also created the Deer at the Vil-la Joana Special Education School (1973). She also made several works of religious imagery, especially in the front of the Monastery of Montserrat and in the Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family (St. Jerome and St. Vincent de Paul, in the exterior mullions). She was also the author of portraits and nudes.
