Josep Colomer Comas was an outstanding Catalan painter linked to the landscape tradition of the School of Olot, recognized by his sensibility to capture the atmosphere, the light and the serenity of the rural landscapes of Catalonia. Born in Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Girona, in 1935, very close to Olot, cradle of one of the most important landscape currents in Spain, he trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Olot under the tutelage of the master Luis Carbonell, where he developed a solid oil technique and a deep connection with nature. In 1959 he held his first solo exhibition at the Luis Armengol Gallery in Olot, the beginning of an extensive exhibition career that led him to show his work in numerous galleries throughout Spain. Among them are the Gabernia Gallery in Valencia, Nomell Gallery in Castellón, Rebeca Gallery in Almería, Armani Gallery in Tarragona, Terra Ferma Gallery in Lleida, Da Vinci Gallery in Salou, Mestral Gallery in L'Escala, El Claustre Gallery in Girona, Trazos Gallery and Maite Muñoz Gallery in Madrid, as well as the emblematic Petritxol Gallery in Barcelona. He also collaborated with the renowned Galerías Llamas in Bilbao, Marbella, San Sebastian and Palma de Mallorca, expanding his presence in the national art market.
