DESCRIPTION
MANUEL FERNÁNDEZ LUQUE (Seville, 1919-Valencia, 2005).

Inscribed in the Spanish expressionism, Luque develops a flat brushstroke style, classic in its composition and modern in its technique. He studied at the universities of Santiago and Madrid, obtaining a doctorate in Pharmacy, and was artistically trained at the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando, in the capital. Throughout his career he has held several exhibitions, especially those held in galleries in New York, Chicago, Paris, Montpelier, Madrid and Valencia, as well as in the U.S. Embassy in Madrid. He has also taken part in artistic competitions, being awarded a Watercolor Prize in Madrid, a Medal at the Spring Salon in Valencia and a Medal at the Armed Forces Exhibition in Madrid. His work is currently represented in the Army Museum in Madrid and the Museum of Monpellier in France, as well as in numerous private collections.
