In this still life, Hasse Juul deploys a rigorously studied composition in terms of chromatic palette and formal disposition, looking for an essential reduction of each element, stylizing them and economizing the language. The Dane applied this approach in much of his work, which often flirted with the limits between figuration and abstraction.
