In "Contrepoint", Erró articulates a complex game of visual superimpositions where historical, mythological, technological and artistic references coexist. The composition, structured in registers, contrasts scenes and styles that intersect without hierarchy: classical figures, fragmented bodies, mechanical iconography and recognizable portraits are integrated into the same narrative plane. The result is a saturated and dynamic image that reflects the contemporary visual bombardment that is common in the artist's work.

Erró studied at the art academy in Reykjavik and Oslo. In 1958 he moved to Paris and participated there in 1960 in the Antiproces exhibition with some of his works. From 1961 until 1966 he participated annually in the Parisian exhibition Salon de Mai. This was followed by numerous trips and exhibitions in other countries, for example, he exhibited in 1969 at the Karlsruhe Art Association (Kunst und Politik Art and Politics). He also shot several films, among them Grimaces (1964). In 2010 he was awarded the French decoration Legion of Honor (Chevalier).
