In this allegory to the wine is represented three children of plump forms in a state of drunkenness. One of the small ones raises his cup while another one holds the pitcher with more divine broth, ready to serve him. The third of the cherubs spills his cup while spitting wine from his mouth. The author presents us with an image very much to the taste of the time, a Bacchic theme. The mythological representation in a revitalized genre, since it was the expression that represented a more intellectual and sophisticated lifestyle, at a time when the newly enriched bourgeoisie was beginning to acquire more aristocratic pretensions.
