Clock in the shape of a Medici vase from the Empire period, in whose main body is housed the white enameled dial with Roman numerals. Loops and garlands sheathe the belly, alternating with a variety of foliate elements. The whole piece is raised on a molded prismatic quadrangular base. The handles take the form of stylized swan heads. The Medici cup is named after the influential Florentine Medici family of Renaissance patrons.
A refined and representative piece of Parisian artistic watchmaking of the early 19th century, it combines technical excellence, sculptural imagination and a taste for the classic.
