DESCRIPTION

Travel clock from the second half of the 19th century.
Bronze and bevelled glass.
In working order.
Measurements: 13 x 8 x 6 cm.
Travel clock or carriage clock with an architectural structure raised on a plinth, with frieze and balusters in smooth gilded bronze, and with a handle placed in the upper area to allow its easy transport. The piece has a white dial with Roman numerals in black and a subdial at 6 o'clock, with visible movement and alarm, which is unusual for this type of piece. The side walls and the front are made of bevelled glass, as are the oculus at the top and the hinged back door, which allows the machinery to be seen. This type of clock was very common in the 19th century and was often used for travelling due to its size.
