DESCRIPTION

Dish. Catalonia, XVIII century.
Hand painted ceramic.
Presents breakage at the foot of the base, chipped and missing polychrome.
Measurements: 7,5 x 21 cm.
Following the basic guidelines of the Catalan pottery, this plate has a figurative representation in its seats (a bird and branches), dominating blue on white engobe. The sensitivity of the craftsmen, the European and Oriental influences and the successive technical innovations gave the work of the Catalan potters a unique character.

COMMENTS

It presents breakage in the foot of the base, chipped and lacking in the polychrome.
This lot can be seen at the Setdart Barcelona Gallery located at C/Aragón, 346.
