BERNAT SANJUÁN TARRÉ (Barcelona, 1915 - Deiá, Mallorca, 1979).

Sanjuán trained at the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. He was a member of the Lais group and exhibited individually in 1936, taking part in the Spring Exhibition of the same year. Years later he settled in the Mallorcan town of Deiá, where he spent the rest of his life. His work includes ceramics, painting, engraving and murals, and he has held solo exhibitions in the most important cities in Spain, as well as in Paris and Zurich. He won the Applied Art Prize in 1952, the Badalona Painting Prize in 1960 and the second medal at the Salón de Otoño de Mallorca in 1969. His work is currently represented in the museums of Barcelona, Olot, Badalona and Villafranca del Penedés, as well as in the Calcografía Nacional in Paris.
