JUAN REUS PARRA, (Valencia, 1912 - 2003). "In the chapel". Pencil and marker on paper. Signed and titled in the lower right corner. Measurements: 23.50 x 17.50 cm, 34 x 27 cm (frame). Specialized in bullfighting themes and portraits of bullfighters, Juan Reus began his artistic training with the painter Ruano Llopis. Later he worked in Balbino Giner's fan workshop. He exhibited his paintings for the first time in the Prats and Collado bazaars in Valencia. In the forties, he was hired as a draftsman of bullfighting posters, a genre for which he was especially known, in the Litografía Ortega, where he replaced Ruano Llopis and met the man who would be his main teacher, Roberto Domingo. Juan Reus is currently represented in the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia, and in the Bullfighting Museums of Valencia and Manolete of Villa del Río.
