Silver 800 gilt and bakelite.
Contrasts on the inside.
Measurements: 1 x 7,5 x 5,7 cm.
Italian compact with a rectangular structure featuring a design based on the painting "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli around 1482- 1485.
Powder cases were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a time when make-up was not yet socially accepted and when the first powder cases were often concealed in accessories such as walking sticks, jewellery or hat pins.
