DESCRIPTION
Carlos IV period mirror, ca. 1800.
Walnut wood and stained fruit marquetry.
It shows wear and slight losses.
Measurements: 86 x 72 cm.
Carlos IV mirror with a frame characteristic of the neoclassical period in Spain, reflecting the refined and artisan style of the early nineteenth century. Made of walnut wood, it is decorated with marquetry in fruit woods that alternate flowers of open corollas with double fillet and geometric fretwork highlighting the borders. The light woods of warm tones of the marquetry contrast with the darker walnut finish.
