Spanish costumbrista painter, Manuel Carmona keeps an intense memory of his pictorial relation with Grazalema, in Cadiz, represented in multitude of his works. Also the corners of the Andalusian villages have been taken to his canvases, boards or papers, in oil or watercolor. His paternal great-grandfather was a nineteenth-century painter of religious themes. While he studied high school, among the subjects taught were artistic drawing and technical drawing. He didn't like to draw with a drawing pencil; drawing nuts, bolts and screws was not his thing. The storage room of his father's store became the place where José Arpa Perea kept his easels, canvases, oil paints, brushes and other equipment. Little by little he began to build up a certain fame and reputation among the painters of his contemporaries. The themes of his paintings are of costumbrista style with themes of villages and rural landscapes of Spain. Fernández García is currently represented in numerous collections in Spain, Germany, Mexico, the United States and even Japan.
