Art Deco-style set consisting of a tray and four glasses, ca. 1930

Art Deco-style tray and four glasses set.
Palisander wood tray; engraved glass cups.
In good overall condition, with superficial wear on the back of the tray.
Measurements: tray, 48 × 30 cm; glasses, 14 × Ø 7 cm.

The combination of rosewood, metal, and glass reflects the Art Deco taste for contrast between materials and for understated, geometric ornamentation. The tray’s appeal lies in the natural richness of the wood, enhanced by discreet metal details that lend definition to its design.

The four glasses feature engraved zoomorphic motifs, introducing a figurative element without disrupting the overall clean lines of the set. The transparency of the glass and the warmth of the rosewood establish a balance of materials characteristic of table and bar accessories associated with the decorative style of the period.
