We see in this tapestry one of the favorite themes of the arts in China, the compositions of flowers and birds, combined with a naval battle and oriental vases. It is an open, asymmetrical composition, centered in the foreground and suggesting the depth of the landscape through simple but effective details. In this case, the traditional embroidery technique is combined with grecadas borders of western influence.
