Enameled porcelain under glass Sang de boeuf.
Measurements: 41 x 25 cm.
Covered with the dark red glaze that gives its name to the Sang de boeuf style. The glaze is applied irregularly, allowing the color to slide over the surface of the piece, accumulating and creating gaps where you can see an intense blue. Thus seeking a naturalistic and expressive appearance between red and blue. The glaze "Oxblood" (copper oxide and firing in a reducing atmosphere), has been used in China since the eleventh century, and since the eighteenth century will be applied as we see here, with accumulations and irregularities.
