Lekythos realized with the technique of black figures that presents ornamentation figure in the central zone. This one has a design composed by the representation of a woman, flanked by two masculine figures dressed with himatión. This type of vessels were also very often used as funerary vessels, not only in Greek cities, but also in other peoples who had contact with this culture. They are characterized by their elongated shape, narrow neck and wide mouth, which allows both limiting the flow of oil and facilitating its application.
The value given to these works made them the object of a flourishing trade and industry. The pottery painters and the masters who made the pieces in clay were highly appreciated in ancient Greece, and works were created both in the technique of black figures and in that of red figures throughout the Mediterranean, both in cities of Greek population and foundation and in potteries of those peoples who had contact with these same nuclei.
