DUNNY is a collectible designer art toy created by Kidrobot and Tristan Eaton. Each Dunny becomes a blank canvas for designers and artists who pour all their creativity into it. This time Kidrobot collaborates with Gary Baseman in the realization of this cute character.
Gary Baseman, a Los Angeles-based artist, explores "the beauty of the bittersweetness of life" through painting, performance, film and fashion. His most recent projects include a collaboration with COACH, as well as the documentary "Mythical Creatures" and a traveling retrospective exhibition that featured hundreds of his paintings, photographs, videos and Art Toys. Baseman's multi-faceted career includes illustrations for clients such as The New York Times, Rolling Stone and The Wall Street Journal and the best-selling board game Cranium; as well as animation for which he created the Emmy and BAFTA award winning series and feature film "Teacher's Pet" for ABC/Disney. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences on graphic arts, multidisciplinary and visual communication.
