Pair of plates; China, 19th century.
Carved and lacquered wood.
They have cracks and flaws.
Measurements: 52 x 51 x 2 cm (x2).
Pair of wooden plaques with a square structure. The presence of rivets on the back indicate that they probably formed part of a piece of furniture in the form of a door or a lattice. In terms of decoration, both pieces have the same ornamental pattern based on the multiplicity of elements. On the red lacquer finish, there are carvings of vegetal inspiration synthesised in gold. Later, a green moulding gives way to the central area where an openwork design with a central medallion representing happiness and abundance is displayed.
