DESCRIPTION
Qing dynasty vase. China, ca. 1910.
Bronze with cloisonné enamel. Circular wooden stand.
Measurements: 30 x 15 x 15 cm (vase); 4 x 10 x 10 x 10 cm (stand).
A series of borders with polyform fretwork delimit a central scene of marked naturalistic character, where the dynamism of the birds in full flight is harmoniously integrated in an exuberant floral environment. The design is completed with a stylized neck, enhanced by the presence of two rings ornamented with fish reliefs, traditional symbols of abundance that bring balance and sophistication to the piece. This is a specimen that represents the excellence of the decorative arts in the Chinese Qing dynasty, a period of technical splendor, cultural synthesis and an unprecedented openness to external influences, marking the final stage of imperial China.
