Pair of fruit bowls of sculptural body based on a vegetable game with vines and puttis collecting the vine (in one of the pieces) or playing with a bird (in another of them). Octagonal glass cups engraved with a crown and monogram finish off the set and act as a tray for the fruit.
A French-based manufacturer of fine silver flatware and home accessories, Christofle was founded in the 1830s, when jeweler Charles Christofle took over the management of a jewelry workshop belonging to his wife's family. Christofle's product lines include silver frames, crystal vases and glassware, porcelain tableware and silver jewelry. The manufacture of Christofle pieces uses traditional manufacturing techniques, including hammer work, yarn stamping, carving and engraving for finishing, as well as patinas, enamels, cloisonné and lacquering for colors, forging of cutlery.
